What’s inside the SM Aura Under The Sea installation

Christmas day may be over, but the spirit lives on up until late January – because that’s just how it is with us Filipinos! I myself consider Christmas as my favorite time of the year, because it is such a festive season of giving and receiving, meeting friends both old and new, and most importantly, being able to take some time away and spend it with family.

SM Supermalls, the Christmas destination for all Filipinos, has put together the biggest and grandest magical Christmas celebration for the entire family to enjoy.

“As we usher the joyful spirit of Christmas, allow us to thank you for celebrating this season with us and for choosing SM to create these special moments with your loved ones,” said Steven Tan, SM Supermalls senior vice president. “From our SM family to yours, we wish you a memorable and meaningful Christmas filled with love and wonderful cheers.”

Here are some of the participating malls and their installations:

SM Megamall features a Royal Holiday wonderland complete with a 45-feet tall Christmas tree centerpiece.

Meet Santa and celebrate a Very Merry MOA Christmas at SM Mall of Asia (MOA). Take a photo with Leo the lion, Hannah the panda, Gerry the giraffe, Hailey the hippo, Macky the monkey, Benny the bunny, Cyril the squirrel, and Ellie the elephant in front of the majestic 50-feet Christmas tree centerpiece.

Go see the biggest and cutest Disney Tsum Tsum Christmas tree at SM North EDSA. Towering 45-feet tall, the well-loved Disney Tsum Tsum Christmas tree is in the heart of Tsum-tacular Christmas village where shoppers can stroll around the winter town and ride the majestic train with their favorite Disney characters.

SM Aura is the SM Store nearest to me, and I, being the curious cat that I am, had always wanted to try the under the sea installation the moment I first saw it (Fun fact: When I was little, I’d wanted to become a Marine Biologist) I actually would frequently point to my boyfriend to take me inside! Fortunately, the day finally came when I got to go inside and experience an enchanting Christmas under the sea! Now, I don’t have to go to the beach or public aquariums to see my little fish friends, because I can now capture magical moments with larger-than-life sea creatures on display with SM’s first-ever digital underwater adventure! Not only that, because I also got to take a photo-op with the 30-foot tall Christmas Tree decked with jellyfish, starfish, and mermaids!

Featured in 65 SM Supermalls nationwide, magical SM décor and Disney- and Pixar-themed holiday displays also include Mickey Mouse and Friends, Olaf’s Frozen Adventure, Disney Princesses, Cars, and Sofia the First.Aside from these amazing centerpieces, SM also presentspyromusical shows, illumination festivals and grand Christmas parades. From carols in the malls, festive music and lights to grand centerpieces and amazing deals, SM is truly an amazing one-stop Christmas wonderland.

SM Supermalls also features Bears of Joy, an annual advocacy campaign dedicated to making more children happy every Christmas. This enables the customers to buy a pair of bears for PhP200 – one bear for the customer to keep while the other bear is donated to charities, such as the Nayon ng Kabataan orphanage.

This year’s magical holiday celebration continues SM’stradition of offering a whole new Christmas experience for everyone – families, millennials, and the elderly alike – to remember and cherish forever.
