Strong and Beautiful Nails with Gelish Polygel

Let’s be honest. We all want strong and beautiful nails, but not all of use have the luxury of time to spend 3-6 hours at a salon to achieve acrylic or gel nail extensions. Thankfully, Gelish released the Polygel® System – a hybrid between hard gel and acrylic nails, a product that has the best features of the two minus the aspects that make them hard to work with.

Unlike hard gel, Polygel® is not self-leveling and stays where your nail technician puts it; and unlike acrylic, it does not harden until it is cured using LED light. It is also more flexible than acrylic, stronger than hard gel, and lighter than any of the two.

Danny Haile, founder and CEO of Nail Harmony, the company behind Gelish™ Soak-Off Polish and Morgan Taylor exhausted all efforts for years  to come up with the perfect formula that will allow nail technicians to work faster and more accurately on their customers’ nails. This is how the Gelish™ Polygel® System was formed. The nails were meant to last for up to three weeks, and removal takes only about 20 minutes!

Even though I work as a Nurse, I still have times in my life where my nails need to be looking their best – in this case, a beach trip with a slipper company over the first weekend of March! Gelish invited myself and a few other bloggers and members of the media to be one of the firsts to try out the Polygel technology over at Kallista Nail Pamper Lounge at S’MAison Conrad in Pasay. I had a full day at work and I couldn’t wait to relish in the pampering treatments and give my tired feet a few hours of rest!

The buffet set up ever so lovely as always care of my favorite friend, Jowly! I am always one of the firsts to get the cake pops, but for some reason, for this event, I forgot! Haha!

I made sure to grow my nails for this event! This is what my nails look like without anything being done to them! I’m very lucky because I have strong nails to begin with, and the nail aestheticians always comment on how lovely they grow! Thanks mga Ate! Kinilig yung Kuko ko! Hahaha!

Basically, the Polygel is just like any gel nail treatment, only faster! First, they clean your nails, file then add the polygel. The nail technicians then apply it using a special brush dipped in a liquid solution to the shape and length that you desire. After this, your nails are cured with LED lights. After that, they coat it with your desired nail color, cure it again, and you’re done!

Although they don’t really advise gel technology for your toenails (but if you want to, sure why not!) my feet needed some R and R also, and I made sure to get  a pedicure, especially because once I stop, my ingrown toenail will start hurting like crazy! My toes only ever get three colors. It’s always a choice between white, red, or the very occasional bubblegum blue!

Kallista Nail Lounge probably has one of the best services out of all the other Nail Salons I’ve tried! They sit you in a luxurious chair, provide you with blankets and back pillows, and my favorite part – a warmed cushion for your neck! Aaaaah! I was trying so hard to not fall asleep!

Here is what my nails looked like after the treatment! I super loved how it ended up looking and super excited to include my hands in all of my photos! Haha! Thank you, Gelish!
