On Creative Outlets: How I started Blogging
I am not really sure whether I first learned to read then write, or write then read, or if they happened at a similar timeline, but those were the first two activities I always remembered enjoying when I was young. I always look to my thoughts as a super fast paced highway – one that is always full, and has no stops. I get the most creative (sometimes absurd!) ideas at the most random places – while sitting on the passenger seat, warming myself under a hot shower, or even while spending some me time on the toilet (LOL! TMI!) From seemingly shallow musings to very quotable quotes, you name it, my brain thinks of it! And I always make it a point to write it down immediately as soon as they come.
As I grew older, I began to share this passion in earnest. One way of which is thru blogging. I remember starting my first ever blog post way back in 2009, and here we are, almost 10 whole years later!
My posts are mostly on the personal side of categories, but as my blog progressed, my interests began branching out as well. I delved into what is now known as the very lucrative world of Fashion Blogging, where back then, all I did was take photos of my outfits and share tidbits of what happened to my day while wearing that particular outfit. Fashion Blogging was new that time, and I found inspirations from local bloggers (Hello to OG, Tricia Gosingtian-Gabunada) to international shores in the likes of Nicole Warne (Gary Pepper Girl), Rumi Neely (Fashion Toast) and Margaret Zhang (Shine By Three)

Margaret Zhang is a truly multi-faceted individual. I can relate to her on that note because I also consider myself a slasher; Nurse slash Blogger slash Layout Maker slash Sometimes Model – and afterwards gone to calling myself a multi-hyphenate. I can clearly remember the day her website inspired my previous blog layout – from the choice of fonts down to how the pictures presented themselves in an asymmetric manner. But most of all, she became part of the evolvement of my style – classic and comfortable pieces with a pop of ~*exxxxtraaa*~ detail (think: patterned blazers, colorful shoes/bags, or extra big jewelry!)
Fast forward to the present, now that I discovered my calling as a Nurse, here I am still – pursuing my passion (that is, creating content!) while also serving my purpose.
The SM Store, one of the leading retail stores in the country, introduces #FashioniSM, defined as devotion to fashion, thru Photographer, Model, and Director Margaret Zhang. It aims to provide thousands of fashionable yet reasonably priced fashion items for every kind of style. Whether you gear towards conservative to the more “out there” street-style, The SM Store truly has it all for you – because there is no better style than the one you own.
We remain children when we continue to play and create. As creatives, it is very important to not lose this sense of creativity – because it just may be one of the many anchors which we set unto our personal identity.
