What Makes You Beautiful? You X Max Factor / Jennylyn Mercado for Max Factor
What does it truly mean to be beautiful? I was asked this question when I attended the YOU x Max Factor event a few weeks ago. Personally, I believe that being beautiful has little to do with how you actually look like, but more on how you are as a person and how you make others feel about themselves. Outside appearance is subjective, and what may be beautiful to one person may not necessarily be beautiful to the next. Think of two very different looking people. Looking on the outside, one may look better than the other (depending on who’s looking) but attitude is not subjective, and if you look on what’s on the inside, if person #1 is good and person #2 is bad – then it’s easy to pinpoint the one who is, and who aptly should be called – beautiful.
YOU X MAX FACTOR embraces the beauty of women from all angles.
Through this empowering movement, Max Factor not only brings to light the diverse beauties of women across ages, countries, and cultures, but also celebrates their beautiful journeys. Women are made strong and beautiful because of the powerful life experiences that they grow through, and with every test of their character, they are able to further define who they are and what beauty means to them. Regardless of what the industry says, they are beautiful because they’re smart, fiercely determined, loyal to friends, optimistic and courageous. YOU X MAX FACTOR encourages these women to celebrate the true depths of their beauty, both on the outside and within.
Jennylyn Mercado (award-winning actress and singer, TV host, songwriter,
endorser, mom to Jazz Mercado, tri-athlete, Muay Thai and Jiu-jitsu enthusiast, and entrepreneur) is the epitome of fearless beauty: She has risen above life’s challenges and continues to win with her determination, self-acceptance, authenticity, and empathy.
She is an inspiration to her generation, fearlessly telling the story of her journey. “The industry may overload us with photos and definitions of specific types of beauty, but we shouldn’t pressure ourselves to fit into these boxes, because every woman is unique and beautiful. We are more than the physical, we are beautiful souls with depth and story, and makeup can help us reflect that confidently every day,” says Audrey Canta, Division Manager for Max Factor. Jennylyn supports this by saying, “For me, a person is beautiful when he/she treats everyone with respect, kindness, and love. Their essential goodness makes them beautiful and powerful inside and out.”
Attended the event with blogger friends, Ruth and Nicole!
They also introduced the new look of the Facefinity Compact! I remember how I used this contact excessively and exclusively back in college, where my friend Krizia sources it for all all the way from Oman! It’s the same formula as before, where you get a powdered finish but with the coverage of foundation, but now with SPF20. It’s small portable shape is designed to fit any bag, making it perfect whether applying at home or on the go I truly love the new look, because now, I can also use the external shell as a mirror! And you all know how much I love anything that comes in gold!

A person is the sum collective of his/her life experiences. There might be hurdles, stumbles, and struggles along the way, but at the end of the day, what’s important is how a person chooses to react to these events, leading up to life lessons and an interesting story, then wrapping it up as one beautiful journey.
